3. Design Process
First consultation- After attending our first consultation call and agreeing to work with me plus signing my proposal and contract and paying your first deposit, I will reserve a spot for you in my calendar and set you up in my client management tool. This is where our project will take off.
Homework- This is the first thing you will do before we can start any design work. It is very important for collection of information concerning your brand + biz so that I can be able to conduct a thorough research of your market and create a brand that is truly beautiful, unique and purposeful. Keep in mind you will have to do several questionnaires depending on the type of service you need.
Pre-Design Consultation- This is where we will go through your homework and discuss all your answers so that we can understand your needs and what you really want to achieve for your brand and business.
Research and design- After conducting the research, I will use all the information gathered from your homework and research and create a your moodboard, logo and color palette. You will have the chance to request up to two revisions.
Brand Elements- After approving the logo, color palettes and moodboard, I’ll get to work on your brand graphics/elements that you’ve requested to have such as the fonts, business collaterals, packaging design etc. You will have the chance to request up-to two revisions.
Final Payment & Final Files- We are almost done! But not quite yet. We will go through the brand board and elements to see if there is any polishing to be done. This is where you will also pay your last deposit before delivering the files over to you.
30 Min Training Session & Support- Yeah!! You now have a beautiful, unique and purposeful brand + website that you can reveal proudly to your people. Before you can launch fully, I will walk you through your new brand and website so you can get accustomed to them. The call will be recorded and sent to you for future reference.
4. Here’s what I need from you to get the project started...
1. Create a Pinterest board
On Pinterest, create and fill a public board with inspiration for your brand. If you get stuck, feel free to pin from my https://www.pinterest.com/firebearcreative/ design boards.
Send me the link to your board when you’re done so I can see it! (You can delete the board once your project is complete).
If Pinterest isn’t your thing, don’t worry. You can search Google for images that resonate with the way you want your brand to feel and simply upload them to the ‘Pinterest’ task inside our Asana project. Watch the video above in the ‘Project Management’ section of this page to see how to do this.
2. Complete your homework questionnaire
Here’s the link to your questionnaire. [INSERT LINK] It will help me understand your goals and style!(you have already taken the first questionnaire, so don’t mind this.)
3. Your website content
In order to keep to time frames and deadlines set, I will need all the content for your website before I start the project. You will need to provide the text for all pages and supply your logo (if I’m not doing your branding!) and any particular photos you want to be used on the site. You can upload these files to the ‘Homework’ task in our Asana project. (See the next section of this page to understand how to do this.)
5. Project Management Training
Now you’re booked in my schedule, we’ll stop using email to have our conversation and we’ll start using my project management tool, Asana.
A project management tool is a secure space online where we have have conversations, share files, set reminders, and create to-do lists.
Whereas files often get lost when I’m managing projects through email, nothing gets lost or forgotten in Asana. It’s the simplest way to keep your project organized and make sure it goes as smoothly as possible!
Don’t worry – you won’t need to pay for this tool and it’s not hard to use. Watch the video below to see a 2-minute tutorial on how to use it!

6. Feedback Guidelines
I really appreciate simple and straightforward feedback. It helps me clearly understand your thoughts and make the right changes to your designs.
Here are a few tips on providing awesome feedback:
- Try and use bullet points to break up your feedback.
- Use headers to organize your feedback.
- Read over your feedback to make sure it’s clear and check that you’ve answered any questions I may have asked.
- Post your feedback as a comment on the relevant Asana discussion instead of emailing me directly. Back and forth emails can get tiring but communicating in Asana is a breeze!
- If you have team members that would like to add their feedback, I kindly ask that you gather the feedback into one message. This stops everyone from getting confused and keeps the project organized.
7. Payment Policy
A non-refundable 30% deposit is due to book your spot in my schedule.
35% is due the day before we start your project.
35% is due when the project is complete but before I hand over your final files.
As outlined in my contract, if your first 35% payment is late, I can put your project on hold. We can restart the project at a later date but a Rescheduling Fee will be charged.
Your final payment is due 14 days upon receipt. If payment has not been made by the 14th day, a 5% interest will be added every 7 days until your payment has been completed, starting on the 15th day.
8. Frequently Asked Questions
Will my new site be on page one of Google?
Not yet. It takes time and good search engine optimisation (SEO) to achieve this. However, your site will be optimised for search engines and over time could get on the first page of Google for search terms related to your business.
Will you show me how to update the site myself?
Absolutely! At the end of your project, I offer a complimentary [ZOOM TRAINING SESSION/PHONE CALL/TUTORIAL AREA] to help you learn how to manage and update your own website.
Will you send me the fonts you used?
In short, no. I own the licenses to the font files I use in your project. However, if you’d like to purchase these fonts, just let me know and I can get that sorted for you! Unless they are free of course, I will send you the files.
Will you send me the editable design files?
These files are not included in the project. But if you do want them, let me know and I’ll create a separate invoice for the cost of these files.
9. What happens next?
